Resume - Privacy Management
With more and more sites tempting you to store your resume, and with most of us now freely forwarding a resume to recruiters & employers, it’s worth pausing for a moment to consider how you should protect your privacy.
LinkedIn and other Public Networking Sites:
Sites such as LinkedIn offer a perfect opportunity to network without having to really do much other than update your business profile. However, consider the following:
Seek, My Career etc – Storage Sites
Most job sites offer candidates the opportunity to store their resume online i.e. you can opt to make your resume visible to potential employers via a database. This is a different service to that of the normally "Apply" process, and is usually found in your Account Management tools.
Recruitment Agencies:
When working with recruitment agencies, it's important that you keep control of the resume, content, data and information you have provided them.
Don’t get caught out:
Manage privacy
settings; think twice before you openly post
information on sites. With recruiters, it’s down to you
to manage where, when, and who sends your resume.
